He has been spending some time off leash at the McNabb and Glebe parks, and also took part in the Gutsy Walk at Carleton U. He really enjoys socializing with other dogs and has been hanging out with Coco the Boxer/Lab and Fernando the Chihuahua on the weekends. On hot days, he loves to keep cool in a kiddie pool in the backyard as we are introducing him to water. He is clearly well adjusted to his new surroundings and appears to feel right at home. He loves to follow us all over the place and is always by our side. He has also been on tons of car rides which he loves. Overall he’s an A+ pup 🙂

June 3, 2012 – Chewie was at the vet this morning to get neutered but since he was coughing, the vet has decided to postpone the surgery until June 14, he thinks he might have kennel cought so we’ll give him time to clear that before he gets neutered. Stay tuned for an update on Chewie in the coming days.

Chewie_BackMay 30, 2013 – Chewie recently visited the vet for his initial check-up and he is in great health! Chewie was vaccinated and will visit the vet again Monday to get neutered. Chewie’s foster parents describe him as an absolute angel who in true pug form loves to cuddle and be with you at all times. Chewie is accustomed to walking on a leash and has proven himself to be quite the gentleman with everyone he meets. Chewie will fit into a forever home with or without pets and any home would be lucky to have him. Keep an eye on Chewie, as he will soon be ready for adoption.

Pingping

Age: 3 years old

PinpingJune 12, 2013 – Pingping is going to her forever home this Saturday, she will share her life with a male pug.

June 6, 2013 – Ping Ping is making great strides in her foster home and is very happy to have a little foster dog brother to keep her company. Although hesitant at first, Ping Ping is thoroughly enjoying this being cuddled and loved thing, unheard of in her previous life. Ping Ping is forming strong bonds with her foster family and has a tendency to be a little dependent, probably best suited in a forever home with another dog to keep her company. Ping Ping has adapted to sleeping in her crate at night, although enjoys naps on the couch as well. Ping Ping has turned out to be a little misfit with the toys and will make a game out of any object. She is a little skittish with noises, however, will become accustomed as she is exposed more and more to her new life. If you are interested in providing Ping Ping with her loving forever home, please submit your application.

May 30, 2013 – Wow, it is truly amazing to see the transformation Pingping has made in just one week. Although still a bit shy with strangers, Pingping is becoming very attached to her foster mom and definitely does want to miss out on any attention is she sees you playing with one of the other pugs. She wakes up every morning wagging her tail and you can just see the happiness and excitement in her big eyes when you start to pet her. Last week at this time, she would just cower if you attempted to pet her. Pingping did get a lot of exposure and attention at Pugstock on Sunday and this is exactly was this beautiful girl needs to come out of her shell and start trusting humans. Pingping was spayed on Tuesday and lost only one tooth. Once Pingping is fully recovered and has her stitches removed, we can then work on going for walks and doing more socializing as she usually puts on the breaks if you try to walk her with a leash. This gorgeous girl has so much potential and just needs to find the perfect home/owner willing to be patient and show her what a loving family has to offer. Please submit your adoption application if you are interested in adopting Pingping.

May 27, 2013 – Pingping was very popular yesterday at the Summer PUGSTOCK, she is getting spayed tomorrow and will have her teeth cleaned at the same time.

May 24, 2013 – Pingping was at the vet today for a complete check up and to get vaccinated. She’s a healthy little girl and she will get spayed the first week of June.

May 23, 2013 – Wow, to see the difference in this little girl is just two days is amazing. Pingping was very timid when she arrived a but is quickly coming around. While she is still unsure of people, Pingping is realizing that good humans want to give her lots of love and attention. Her tail was very straight the first night but she now has a curly, wagging tail and gets excited when she sees you. Once Pingping feels safe enough to let you pet her, she just looks at you with those big eyes and soaks up every minute of it. Pingping recently had puppies, she will be going to the vet tomorrow for a full check up and then we’ll schedule her for her spaying surgery.

PingpingMay 21, 2013 – Pingping is from a puppy mill. She’s born in 2010 and she is 17lbs. Pingping just finished nursing puppies. Pingping will be going to the vet in the coming week for a complete check up and to be brought up to date in her vaccination.

May 13, 2013 – Shandu went to the vet today. The vet said that she had only a minor inflammation in her ears. He felt that either the infection was very mild when she was first seen, or that the current medication (Otomax) we are giving her is working. He suggested that we continue giving her the drops for the next 12 days and then have her re-checked. Except for needing to lose a few pounds, she is in excellent health. She weighs 26.5 lbs. She is an absolute little angel wherever she goes. She is one of the most well mannered and well behaved pug I have ever seen. She loves going for rides In the car, and she just lays right down and goes to sleep.
At the vet, she shared the waiting room with another dog, a cat, a bird and a rabbit. Shandu was a perfect little visitor by laying quietly at my feet.

May 11, 2013 – Shandu came in today from the SPCA in Gatineau. She was surrendered by her owner. Shandu is 5 years old, she is spayed and up to date in her vaccination. Shandu is VERY friendly and VERY happy. Gets along well with other dogs and LOVES to meet new people and gives kisses. Shandu will be going to the vet on Monday to be treated for a bilateral ear infection. Her teeth appears to be in good condition. Shandu is 25.7lbs and she would benefit from losing 3-4lbs.

Easy to tell she hasn’t been taken on too many walks in her life. Kerby is always very excited when we return home and loves to be picked up so she can give tons of kisses and licks.

May 9, 2013 – Kerby is an owner surrender. She’s born in October 2010. Kerby is about 23lbs and she is super friendly and good with other dogs. She’s a very cuddly pug and loves the attention. Kerby is spayed and up to date in her vaccination. Stay tuned for more info on Kerby.

Reuben

Age: 10 years old

Reuben_May_19We picked up Dudley (formerly Reuben) just over 2 weeks ago. We had a 5 hour drive home and sporadically, for the first hour, Dudley would look out the back window and whine, cry and howl. He seemed really sad leaving his foster family! He has slowly started opening up so that we can see his playful side. He loves to play with his Boston/Pug cousin Tessa and take walks meeting all of the neighbourhood dogs and their people. He is a very polite boy and listens extremely well. He loves car rides and is very calm and lays down till we get to our destination. We are working on his leash skills and he has improved greatly. We are so happy that he adopted us and are very thankful to Genevieve and his foster family for saving Dudley and showing him how to behave in a proper home. We are going to have such a rich life exploring, camping, fishing socializing and conquering the world together! Hopefully, we can all do our part for the animal world. Keep our pets safe and happy.

Pina

Age: 6 years old

LemonPina and I are doing great – I hope you are too. She is adjusting to her new life in Toronto very well! She likes to cuddle with me wherever I am and she is being such a well-behaved little girl. She likes going for walks with me and always stops in front of Starbucks and the beauty salon: she is a true city girl 🙂 I have obtained a Toronto pet license for Pina so now she is an official resident of the city! My family and friends all love her and so do my neighbours (there are 2 neighbours in my building who own pugs!). She has been eating well and I always make sure that she has water in her bowl. Thank you so much for allowing me to adopt Pina – she has brought so much joy into my life!

Dusen

Age: 1 year old

DusenSilus (formerly known as Dusen) has been a wonderful addition to our family and we are extremely grateful to UMWPR and Silus’ amazing foster parents who took great care of him, and gave him love and attention when he needed it most! Silus fits right in with us and it didn’t take him long to make himself comfortable in his new and forever home. He is an energetic little fella who loves to play with his two pug brothers, go for walks, and run around his almost ¾ of an acre fenced in yard. As active as he is and as much as he loves to play, his favourite thing in the world to do is cuddle! He is the sweetest little fella who absolutely adores human contact and just loves being loved and we are happy to provide him with all the love he could ever want!Silus is now living the life every pug deserves to have and it’s thanks to the hard work and dedication of all the wonderful people at Under My Wing Pug Rescue!

Monkey

Age: 7 years old

monkey02June 2, 2013 – Monkey is officially adopted….(-:

May 31, 2013 – Monkey is getting adopted by…………..her foster family.

May 16, 2013 – Monkey is doing so well these days and it’s such a pleasure fostering this sweet girl. She will always put a smile on our face and is happy to greet you with lots of kisses and a wagging tail whether it’s first thing in the morning or when you come home from being away from the house. Monkey likes to cuddle up close to her sister Baobao when they are just napping on their little bed in the living or snoozing on their big pillow bed at night. Since recovering from her spaying, she would be happy never to see a crate again and does fine in the house when left alone. You will usually find Monkey happily awaiting your return at the front door. Monkey enjoys going for walks when the weather is nice and is doing well on leash but is quite content to just stay indoors when it’s rainy or cold.

April 30, 2013 – Monkey is a super friendly pug always excited to meet people and other dogs. She is full of personality and very playful. Monkey likes to be the center of attention most of the time but she plays well with the other pugs. Monkey is going to be very happy getting back to her walks now that her stitches have been removed and is enjoying the freedom of not having to be crated anymore. Monkey is normally an very early riser in the morning but seems to enjoy the comforts of the big doggy bed with her sister Baobao. Unlike her sister, Monkey has no problem with the stairs and getting around the house so like most pugs, she’ll always be close by your side. If you’d like to meet Monkey in person, please come down to Brewer Park Farmers Market this coming Sunday to meet her and her sister Baobao.

April 21, 2013 – Well the name Monkey definitely suits this busy girl. At times it’s been a challenge keeping her quiet since getting her spayed on Wednesday but, she has settled in well at her foster home. Monkey has to be crated most of the time while she recovers. When she is out of the crate and calms down, she will then settle down beside you and have a nap, usually with her sister Baobao close by. Once Monkey’s stitches are removed, we’ll be able to let her get back to a normal routine and see her personality shine.

April 18, 2013 – Monkey was spayed yesterday and she had 13 teeth removed. She is 17.2lbs and she is now ready to be adopted. If you are interested in adopting Monkey, plese submit your adoption application form.

April 13, 2013 – Monkey came to us two nights ago and for a girl who is seven, she is very active and always looking for attention. Although this poor girl had a rough start on life, she is not afraid of humans and loves to jump all over you. Once she has settled in more, we’ll work on her manners. Monkey went for her first walk yesterday and she was very good on the leash so based on her energy, she will need regular walks. Monkey is getting used to good quality food and like a typical pug, seems to have no problem with her appetite. Monkey had a bath yesterday morning so smells fresh and clean and is going to the vet on April 17 to be spayed and have her teeth cleaned. Stay tuned for more updates on Monkey as we get to learn more about this sweet, beautiful girl.

April 10, 2013 – Monkey came in tonite with her sister Baobao. Both were used for breeding and they were quiet during their transpot from Montreal. Monkey is a little more outgoing than her sister Baobao but they both have sweet disposition. Monkey will be visiting the vet in the coming week for a complete check up and to be brought up to date in her vaccination. We will also schedule an appointment to ahve her spayed. Stay tuned for more on Monkey in the coming days.
