August 27, 2014 – Gino is gone to his forever home yesterday.

August 22, 2014 – This wee lovebird is back in his foster home after a teeth cleaning and neutering surgery. Gino was left with three teeth, although you would never know as he is still wolfing down his meals with a vengeance and still has his killer smile! Gino has already packed on almost two pounds to his tiny frame, weighing in at 15.5 pounds; he will fill out perfectly with a couple more pounds. Watching Gino trot around on his light feet is one of the greatest things to see and I dare you not to smile as you watch him roam around the yard, joyful as can be. Gino adores the car and is under the impression that anytime the front door opens car ride; so trying to coax him back into the house is a little time consuming, but fun as well. Gino is such a happy-go-lucky little guy who adores snuggling and being nearby; he is also very helpful with gardening, always willing to water everything. Gino will make any forever home extremely happy and would do very well with or without other animals in the home. If you think that you can give Gino is loving forever home, please contact us.

October 1, 2014 – Pierre is growing up quickly. His day starts with a morning walk, then breakfast which he gobbles down. The rest of his day consists of daily exercise, basic training, playing with his toys, naps and cuddle time. There have been no accidents in the house. Pierre will let you know when he needs to go out by prancing in front of you. He has mastered the sit command and will do so when asked. Most times he will come to you when called. This is a work in progress. Being a puppy he must be watched as he tends to put everything in his mouth. Pierre enjoys his play dates at the dog park. He enjoys playing with his friends and loves the attention he gets from other dog parents. Sometimes he requires a bath after play which he thoroughly enjoys. When not in a fenced area Pierre should be on a leash at all times as he will run off if distracted and he does not no the dangers of cars. A family with a dog, to keep him company, and no young children would be best suited for this special guy. We wouldn’t want him to get hurt by young children not knowing his limitations.

Due to his challenges a family that can take the time, have the patience, understand his limitations and love him for who he is is the family we hope to find.

August 28, 2014 – Vegas is going to his forever home today. He will spoiled by his new adoptive family as an only dog and a stay at home dad.

August 26, 2014 – Vegas had his dental cleaning last week and had five teeth extracted. Although he is a little sluggish coming out of the anesthetic, he perked right up for his dinner tonight performing his usual pug twirls at the sight of his dinner bowl. He was also alert enough to remember his newly taught manners and sit while his bowl is placed on the ground and wait until he was told OK. Vegas is also being treated with Surolan for an ear infection. This handsome guy is a real sweetheart who loves nothing better than to snuggle on the sofa watching TV. Vegas ‘s confidence is growing daily and he now asks to go out just to explore the backyard. Leash walking is improving and he is a little less reluctant to go for our regular walks but would really prefer to drive and is always eager for a car ride.

August 18, 2014 – Vegas is feeling more at home everyday. He is gaining more confidence which is allowing us to see more of his personality. This handsome boy is interested in everything going on in the house but he is not clingy and will make himself comfortable on the couch and have a nap while I go out. He is fully housebroken and has full run of the house. Vegas is food obsessed even more than your average pug and dances in circles down the hall when he thinks it’s meal time. His manners still need some work but they are slowly improving and he now sits when shown his bowl.

August 12, 2014 – Vegas went to the vet for a complete check up. X-rays showed no stone in his bladder but he has a little bit of blood in his urine. The blood analysis showed that everything was within normal limits so we still don’t have an explanation for why he has blood in his urine. We will have another blood test done when he gets his teeth cleaned to see if he shows any signs of kidney failure. Other than that, Vegas is settling in to his new environment well. He is a little reluctant to go for a walk but as soon as he thinks we are heading back to the house his pace picks right up and has no problem keeping up with his foster brothers and although he is not very fast we have discovered this boy likes to run. He does occasionally bark at other dogs especially if the dog is bigger. He also barks at random things on the TV. This affectionate boy with his teddy-bear soft coat is an excellent lap warmer and doesn’t mind sharing a lap with one of the resident pugs. Talk a little baby talk to Vegas and his tail waggles non-stop; we’ve even seen his tail wiggling while he is having a nap. Today we discovered he likes to play tug of war and that he has a very strong grip. We are working on his manners as Vegas tends to snap like a crocodile when hand feeding him and will lunge for his dinner bowl knocking right out of my hand given the chance. Vegas would do best as an only dog or with another small quiet dog and a house without younger children. Vegas is getting his teeth cleaned on August 21.

July 31, 2014 – Please meet Vegas, he’s a 9 1/2 year old owner surrender. Vegas is good with other dogs and kids. He will going to the vet this Saturday for a complete check up and x-rays as we are suspecting he might have a stone in his bladder. He had a bladder stone removed in 2010. July 22, 2014 – Jeffrey is going to his forever home on July 29, he will be sharing his new life with a beautiful black pug brother, also adopted from UMWPR.
