February 17, 2020 – Teddy had 26 teeth removed at the vet last week and he was diagnosed with mast cell tumor on his front left foot.  We won’t have him neutered as we don’t want to put him under another anesthesia.  There is no surgery possible for this mast cell tumor other than partial amputation of the leg.  Teddy’s foster family has decided that they wanted to keep him forever and we were very happy with that outcome.  Teddy is now in his forever home….(:

February 12, 2020 – Teddy has had an eventful week. He continues to be sweet as can be, can be timid at first with new people until he smells them and receives a scratch, then he’s friendly as ever. He had the chance to play with a few young children, and did wonderful. He chased them around, and gave and receive kisses and lots of petting from little hands. He always loves his meal time, and lets you know when he thinks it’s time to be fed. He did great at the Winter Paw Thaw on February 9, socializing well with all the other dogs. He had 26 teeth removed during his dental procedure yesterday, and seems to be recovering well tonight. His appetite was definitely normal when he got home, and he was not impressed that his meal was smaller than usual due to taking it easy post surgery. He continues to do well with free range around the main living area, and has had no accidents in the house. He will go near the door at times to signal he would like to go outside. Always loves to be near you, and enjoys all the love and cuddles he is given.  Teddy has a mast cell tumor on his left front foot and the vet recommended to not touch it.  It doesn’t bother him.

February 4, 2020 – Teddy continues to enjoy several walks a day. He would enjoy a backyard at his forever home. We continue with basic training and has mastered “sit” & “down”. Looking forward to meet some fellow pugs at upcoming Winter PawThaw this coming Sunday at Ron Kolbus Lakeside Centre.

January 28, 2020 – Teddy has been enjoying the warmer temps and with his Pawz boots, he is getting extended walks in. His dental surgery was delayed to February 11.  Teddy is not much for toys at moment but like a typical pug enjoys his sleep or nap times. We have started treating his facial scar with Vitamin E oil and he does not appear to have any more skin issues. He is eating one protein dog food supplemented with pumpkin.

January 21, 2020 – Teddy is enjoying a warm home and shorter outdoor walks with this cold spell but we have found out tonight that he loves his new balloon Pawz boots. Along with his harness and a sweater, the salt did not bother him tonight. We have added both hemp seed oil and Tri Acta to his evening meal of wet kibble with some pumpkin and he loves his food like a typical pug. His skin is clearing up nicely and he looks forward to his dental procedure on February 11.

January 14, 2020 – We have had a good weekend. Teddy had a nice warm bath and had some playtime with a 4 month old puppy. He does play well with others. I have tried toys but not the greatest luck. He played very briefly with a ball. But could be related to not a big chewer due dental issues. I have got him a smaller ball rather than tennis size. He as mentioned is excellent on leash and not a puller but walks very fast.  He enjoys “smelling everything” and we kept walks to about 4 a day at 15-20 minutes each time. Minimal stratching and hopefully his neck will dry out, but so much better.

January 10, 2020 – We have renamed this sweet boy Teddy, we wanted him to have a new beginning and really, he totally looks like a big teddy bear.

January 7, 2020 – Zorro aka Teddy was at the vet last night.  He has skin infection and his mouth is terrible.  He has an ear & eye infection and an open wound on the left cheek caused by excessive scratching….he went back to his foster mom with antibiotics for skin and teeth, antibiotics for his eyes, 2 types of ear medication and a medication to help reduce the itch.  He also has a lump on his left foot that will be removed when he gets neutered.  He is going back to the vet in 3 weeks for a recheck.  Despite all those ailments, Zorro is such a good boy and has a beautiful disposition.  He is great in the car.

January 6, 2020 – Zorro was dropped at a shelter with his name written on a paper.  He is about 11 years old and he is not neutered.  He has been neglected for a long time based on his skin, ears and eye condition.  He is seeing the veterinarian tonite.  Stay tuned for more on this beautiful boy.
