December 24, 2019 – Winnie has been adopted by a work from home couple. She will share her life with 2 pug sisters and a pug brother.
December 24, 2019 – Winnie was at the vet today, her skin is looking better but she will continue her antibiotics for a few more weeks. Winnie has started a kangaroo/oatmeal formula especially for dogs with skin conditions. Winnie can be a bit bossy with other dogs but she is not aggressive. She can live with other dogs and would do well with someone working from home or not gone for several hours at a time.
December 16, 2019 – Winnie has had a busy few days. She went to the vet for a check up and will continue with her antibiotics and was given a new shampoo for her itchy skin. Winnie was spayed today and is now recovering very quietly at home. While she was at the vet clinic, they were able to give her nails a good trim. She will go back to the vet on December 24 to have her skin re-checked. She is eating a pork formula as we want to stay away from poultry due to her itchy skin. Winnie is a real sweetheart of a dog and she is learning to live in a family environment with other dogs. She can be a little jealous at times. Winnie is great in the car, and loves going for drives. She will usually just sit on the seat. When we go out, we leave Winnie loose in the house and she is great, no accidents and no mischief.
December 1, 2019 – Good news, Winnie does NOT have Cushing. The blood results came back negative. The vet noticed her hair are starting to grow. Winnie is going back to the vet on December 11 and we will reassess her and see how her skin is doing and we will schedule her spaying surgery.
November 29, 2019 – Winnie has had a great week with no accidents. She has really adjusted to our routine. Each week, Winnie is feeling a little more comfortable with us and her environment and her personality comes out a little more. She is really sweet. She loves to lay on my lap no matter where I am sitting. Winnie is responding very well to her name and hoping to work on the basics commands with her; sit, stay. When guests come over to the house, Winnie will run over to greet them, but then will go back to either the pillow or my lap. We took advantage of the beautiful warm day this week and went for a long walk with her, she was excellent the whole time and walked well on the leash. She did however get cold near the end. She was so exhausted for the rest of the day and evening. Winnie went to the vet today and had some more blood work done and we are waiting the results. Skin scraping showed no mites. She was prescribed some antibiotics for her skin and the vet also commented that she believes that Winnie is growing some new fur. Winnie is to go back to the vet on 12 days for recheck.
November 21, 2019 – Winnie is settling in a lot more and has quickly picked up a routine and there has been no more accidents in the house. She has completed her antibiotics but she is still receiving her ear drops and her medicated baths. After her bath she likes to go lay up on my bed, on my lap with her blanket on top of her.
When Winnie spots the cat she will try to chase and bark at him.
November 5, 2019 – Winnie was found stray in terrible condition, half of her body has no hair. She is about 7 years old and is not spayed. Was clearly used for breeding. Winnie is going to the vet this afternoon for a complete check up & blood work. Follow this sweet girl as we get to know her better in the coming weeks.
