November 21, 2018 – Marlee is gone to her forever home today.
November 15, 2018 – Marlee had her teeth cleaned on Monday November 12. She has 7 teeth left in her mouth. She is back to her normal self and she is now available for adoption.
October 25, 2018 – Marlee arrived to us at 12.2 kg and has had her vet visit. Other than being a bit overweight, the vet says she is “the picture of health!” She is on smaller meal portions, no treats, no people food and getting out for 4-5 walks around a block a day. In only a few days her weight has reduced to 11.6 kg. The vet says she is built quite wide so it is unlikely she will be a slim pug. She has a teeth cleaning scheduled for November 12. Marlee sleeps a lot and has no accidents in the house. She will occasionally bark at the noises of neighbours coming and going or traffic noises outside. Marlee gets excited when it’s time to go out for a walk. She barks at some of the dogs on our walks and also at big vehicles such as the garbage truck. She walks well but she wants a lot of breaks. She is getting faster and, taking less breaks as the days go on. Marlee is a bit anxious in the car for a few minutes; during the first day in her foster home, she was also anxious for about an hour as she got settled. Her roommate Dorian and her are getting along well side by side but not playing with each other. She is protective of her food with Dorian but, not aggressive. We feed them on opposite sides of the gate and there is no trouble. She eats slowly. She will sit under you at the kitchen table and may start to beg but, she listens when told to “get down” and doesn’t try again. Marlee sleeps on the big bed at night and for the most part sleeps right through without any restlessness. She knows commands “Sit” “down” and “paw.” She also knows her name. She loves to be in the same room as you unless she can be on the big bed- then that is where she loves to be. Marlee doesn’t bark when we leave the house. She is kept with Dorian in the kitchen when we are out with their beds and water. We will know more about her behaviour with other dogs at the Howl.O.Ween Pawty this weekend. Marlee makes a lot of noise when she is excited or getting tired on her walk. Not unusual for a pug to be noisy though. We compare her to the Tasmanian devil. She is a loveable pug with a lot of pug to love 🙂
October 20, 2018 – Marlee came in this afternoon. Owner surrender. This sweet girl is born on September 30, 2009. Marlee is spayed and gets along well with other dogs. Stay tuned for more info on Marlee as we get to know her more.
