August 16, 2018 – Sofie went to her forever home tonite, she will share her life with a pug brother and a pug sister.
August 5, 2018 – Sofie is full of energy and she enjoys the company of other dogs. She is good with kids and loves to go for walks when the weather permits. Sofie will have to remain on Urinary SO (vet diet) for the rest of her life to avoid any more bladder stones.
July 31, 2018 – Sofie has a bit of a playful side at times. She has shown interest in playing with some dogs toys, but had the most fun with an empty water bottle before it went to recycling . She also tried to initiate play with one of our dogs, which is great to see. Sofie loves to be part of things, and like most pugs doesn’t love being left behind. She enjoys having the other dogs for company. She has on occasion done a mini howl when we are in a different part of the house/left the house, but will settle and nap until you return. Sofie loves napping on the couch. She also loves being active – sometimes she does some reverse sneezing when excited or exerting herself. She hasn’t been phased by our toddler and now hopes he will share some of his food. Housetraining is good – she hasn’t had any accidents. She is a lovely and sweet pug.
July 24, 2018 – Sofie had 35 stones removed from her bladder on Monday and she was spayed at the same time. She is back to her foster family for a smooth recovery. As soon as she is healed and stitches removed, Sofie will be available for adoption.
July 19, 2018 – Sofie went to the vet today and x ray showed she has a lot of stones in her bladder. She has to keep peeing in order to avoid emergency surgery. Today she has peed twice finally! Yay! So hopefully that keeps it up until Monday when she is booked for surgery. She cried in pain when the vet palpated her abdomen today. We are starting her on some pain medication and antibiotics today. She did a lot of excessive panting last night due to stress and pain. That seems to be much better already today. Sofie has conjunctivitis in both eyes is getting eye gel three times a day for that. Her teeth are in good condition and there doesn’t appear to be any other health issues. So far, Sofie has done all her pees outside. Sofie walks pretty well on leash. She does not pull, but is a bit all over the place. She gets very very excited when it is walk time and tries to bite her leash. Sofie is a very happy girl. He can sometimes be vocal when she gets excited she tries to talk to you and tell you how happy she is. If left alone even briefly she makes a big fuss when. You get home. She doesn’t appear to know how to snuggle but she sure is enjoying learning how. She hasn’t shown much interest in toys yet but she really enjoys getting as close to you as possible when stretching or sitting on the floor. (Think puppy yoga).
July 18, 2018 – Sofie came in yesterday. She was surrendered to the Ottawa Humane Society. Sofie is born in January 2010. She is not spayed and she has stones in her bladder. Sofie went to the today for a complete check up and she is getting a surgery this coming Monday to remove the stones in her bladder and to spay her. She weighs 23.4lbs and could lose a few lbs. Sofie is very sweet with people and dogs.
