May 1, 2014 – Cher will be going to her forever home in 2 weeks. She will be living with a pug brother.

April 22, 2014 – Cher had her last vet appointment today, and got her vaccinations and had her eyes checked. No major problems were identified. We had noticed that she did not seem to see well. The vet confirmed that she can see, but speculated that because of her poor health history, it may be that her eyes had had some problems in the past that weren’t treated properly and they had deteriorated affecting the quality of her vision. She was a trooper through it all, and is now relaxing at home.

April 15, 2014 – Much like her fellow friends, Cher is adapting to life on this side. Cher is holding her own with other animals and is intrigued no matter the size and after settling in, Cher has developed a love of playing with two and four legged beings. Cher seems to be getting along with children and would therefore do well in a home with or without children or pets. With a proud new smile and love in her life, Cher is also content to sashay on her walks, strutting for the neighbourhood. A proud pug indeed. Like so many of our adoptees, Cher is made of 90% Velcro that is attracted 100% to human legs. Cher wants to share her life with humans and show them that she is so worthy of love.

April 14, 2014 – Cher had 7 teeth extracted last Friday. She needs to eat soft food for the next little while. She mastered the short flight of stairs on the back porch, and has also mastered going up the big flight inside the house. She still asks for help going down that one, but I think she’s really tempted to try it on her own…maybe she will once she’s recovered.

April 4, 2014 – Cher was at the vet yesterday and she has very bad teeth. She has a bit of dry eyes so she has been prescribed eye drops. Cher is getting her teeth cleaned on Friday April 11 and will be brought up to date in her vaccination once she’s completely recovered from the dental procedure. We have confirmed that Cher has been spayed in February 2013.

April 2, 2014 – Things are looking up! Cher has begun to come out of her shell. She is roaming the house on her own more and is wagging her tail (well, really, her whole back end) quite a bit. She is now eating full meals with the other animals, although she still needs to be enticed with a little gravy on her kibble. Despite a very slow and stubborn start, she has progressed from refusing to walk on a leash to happlily trucking down the sidewalk on short walks and she also enjoys wandering around in the backyard with Stanley, the resident dog. She has also improved with her stair climbing (up, not down…we’ll work on that later) and has jumped up on the couch twice all by herself. She has engaged with Stanely in a some playtime, although that was followed by some huffing and puffing and a nap. All this exercise is definitely new to her, but should help to make her a little less roly-poly… Cher will be visiting the vet tomorrow for a complete check up.

March 31, 2014 – Cher came in yesterday. She’s 5.5 years but could lose a few lbs. Cher will be visiting the vet this week for a complete check up. Stay tuned for more info on this plumpy girl.
