January 6, 2019 – Harvey is gone to his forever home today…(:
December 30, 2018 – Harvey has had no accidents in the house, and will let you know if he would like to go out. He interacts well with dogs, he follows them around and likes to smell them. Harvey is learning from the other dogs how to play. I don’t think he was ever comfortable enough to play in the past. Harvey loves being outside and loves to walk. When Harvey first arrived, he slept on a dog bed beside my bed; he has now figured out how to jump up on the bed and loves to sleep up on the big bed. Harvey does not like to be left alone. Harvey does not like his face washed or anything up close to his face. He loves people. He loves the bath tub. Harvey does not even bother with our cat at all, no chasing or barking. We had two young children here at Christmas and Harvey did not bother with them. Harvey is just starting to want to be cuddled and petted, I am not sure how much he had that in the past. Since Harvey was neutered on December 21, he has not tried to pee in the house and the humping has calmed down a lot.
December 9, 2018 – Another great week with Harvey, he loves to play and chase the other resident pugs. During quiet time he will lay beside me on the couch rest. Harvey was at the vet last week; he is now up to date on his vaccines and was prescribed ear drops to help out with his ear infection. Harvey continues to come out go his shell more and more each day.
He has a great temperament and personality and continues to be accident free in the house as he is letting us know when he needs to go outside.
November 28, 2018 – Wow what a difference a week makes. Since Harvey has started his antibiotics, he is a different dog. We have removed his cone and he is no longer scratching. He is always running around with a big smile on his face and is enjoying hanging out with the other resident pugs. Harvey is now going up and down the stairs on his own. Harvey enjoys walking and looks forward to them. When Harvey needs to go out, he will let you know. So far no accidents in the house. Harvey does like to be around humans, he is always following me around the house. He is such a sweetheart. Harvey is going to the vet on December 7 to be brought up to date in his vaccination and he is getting neutered on December 21.
November 26, 2018 – Harvey is doing and looking 1 million times better than when he came to us 10 days ago. Meet Harvey on Saturday December 1 at Rens Pets on Strandherd Drive in Barrhaven from 11AM to 3PM. Harvey will soon get neutered and be available for adoption shortly after.
November 21, 2018 – The heart on Harvey’s forehead Is a real indication of how sweet he is. He is adjusting very well to all the changes of living in a different house. When he is feeling playful he likes to chase the ball with the other resident pugs. Harvey does not bother with the cat at all. He is very reluctant to tackle the stairs in the house and to the house. He must be carried each time. He loves being outside. So far so good Harvey has had no accidents in the house, and will let us know when he needs to go out. He went to the vet today, and he was such a good boy. Harvey got a prescription to help with his itchy skin. I have already seen a little improvement with him and we are able to keep the cone off of him for over 20 minutes. He was prescribed antibiotics for 2 weeks and drop for his eyes to clear the infection. Harvey’s neutering surgery will be scheduled in a few weeks.
November 17, 2018 – Harvey came in today. He was surrendered by his owner who couldn’t attend his medical care. Harvey has bad skin condition, ear infection and green puss is coming from his eyes. He will be going to the vet on Tuesday November 20 for a complete check. Harvey is not neutered. We will start him on raw food today and he already had a nice medicated bath at the groomer and his long nails were cut. Harvey has to wear a cone for now as he is very itchy and would scratch his ears until they bleed.
