Jello_March_2March 22, 2013 – Jell-O is gone to his forever home.

March 14, 2013 – Single, handsome and hulky boy seeks forever home. Are you looking for that perfect cuddler? As long as you don’t mind a little snorting and snoring – Jello is your guy! Everyone who has met him thinks he is so adorable and he has learned to play this angle up as much as he can in order to be lavished with attention and paws crossed – a belly rub! Once he gets to know you, he’ll jump up beside you and then nudge his head under your arm just to let you know he’s there. Jello is always looking forward to his daily walks and we are now up to 30 minutes; with the time change and warmer weather, we will increase his walks to twice daily. Jello still has some pounds to lose but has made great progress. You really have to meet this guy in person to see how handsome and sweet he really is. If you are interesting in adopting Jello, please fill out an application form.

March 2, 2013 – We have had the pleasure of fostering Jello for the past little while and he is the sweetest guy. He is very well behaved and such a joy to have around. Jello is like most pugs and likes to follow your every step around the house and sit close by your side on the couch. When he’s not curled up beside you with his head on your lap, he’s sitting close by falling asleep with his head still up. It’s quite comical to watch and even more funny when he starts to breathe through is mouth. Jello sleeps comfortably on his pillow at night and lets you know when it’s time to get up by coming to the side of the bed, putting his paws up on the bed and making a little whimper sound. Based on his size and how excited he gets when seeing human food, we have a feeling his diet was not the best but he is enjoying is healthy kibble now and has already lost a few pounds. Jello loves to go for his walks and starts to perk up as soon as he sees you reaching for the harness. We are gradually increasing his time and I’m sure within a few months, this handsome boy will be in tip top shape. We just got another foster pug in a few days ago and while they get along fine, they haven’t really started to play with one another yet. It appears that Jello would be fine on his own or with another dog. If you are interested in Jello, please fill in an application form.

February 22, 2013 – Jell-O was at the vet this morning because we’ve found blood in his urine. The vet did an urine analysis and Jell-O has a urinary tract infection (there was a little bit of bacterias, no crystals though) so he was put on Clavamox for 10 days.

Jell-O now weighs 28.4lbs which means he lost 2.5lbs since he came to us. We will re-evaluate Jell-O’s urine once he is done with the antibiotics and once we have a clean bill of health, we will put Jell-O back on the “available for adoption” section.

February 20, 2013 – Jell-O was at the vet yesterday to have his teeth cleaned and the vet said they were not in need to be cleaned as they were great and his gums in very good condition. He estimated that Jell-O would be no more than 5 years old….based on his teeth and general aspect. Jell-O is now ready to be adopted, if you’re interested in becoming Jell-O’s forever home, please send us your adoption application form.

February 18, 2013 – What a happy and resilient boy this Jell-O is! With his infected nail removed, he is no longer limping and is walking much longer distance, just at a slower rate. His antibiotics are just about complete. His paw looks clean and he will put pressure on it now while he is walking, sitting, etc. His ears look whiter and have had no wax buildup since the antibiotics were completed. Jell-O enjoys walking now, he prances along while wagging his tail. At the dog park he was not the social butterfly but he was very accepting and patient to the puppies that were. We met a group of young girls at a local coffee shop who played with him, hugged him and even tried to see if his tail unfolds. This charming boy stood patiently and did not appear bothered by all the attention. While not as active as a young child, he did not mind having them around. Jell-O loves introducing himself to other humans, not jumping, just sitting and what we call is his ‘talking’. While he will cuddle beside you, he is naturally a larger pug and seems to prefer space to stretch out on the floor or on another chair all to himself. At night, he prefers on the floor beside the bed than on the actual bed. He is a ‘wanna be near you’ more than ‘wanna be on you’ sort of pug. Jell-O appears to know French commands for sitting, as for coming he will come if you use a ‘come here’ hand motion. He also knows how to give paw. Since we are on a weight loss mission with this guy, we use part of his daily kibble allowance as a treat and he loves it! We are waiting to get a weight in the next few days at the vet, but for us he appears to be looking good. He still has a way to go, but already he seems a lot more comfortable walking and breathing so his exercise and diet are proving to serve him well. I cannot stress enough that his future happiness depends on a family committed to preserving a good diet and exercise at his level !

February 12, 2013 – Jell-O was at the vet yesterday as he broke one nail and it got infected. The vet prescribed some Clavamox bid for 7 days and we were happy to see that Jell-O had lost 1.2lb. Jell-O is getting his teeth cleaned on February 19 and will be ready for adoption soon after.

February 9, 2013 – Jello is adjusting to his new life, enjoying the snow and like every pug, he appreciates being with his people and will serenade with his glorious snoring. Jello adores when you speak to him and shows you his spectacular head tilt in reply. Jello is in dire need to drop some pounds, in the coming weeks we will be working hard to shed his pounds. Jello continues to be treated for his ear infection and is also on antibiotics to treat an infection in one of his feet where a nail was pulled out. Jello will soon return to have his teeth cleaned and will be a slim boy in no time with a strict diet and plenty of exercise! Stay tuned for the story of this wonderful boy.

February 8, 2013 – Jell-O was at the vet today and was prescribed Surolan for his ear infection for 6 days bid. Jello-O is gettting his teeth cleaned in a week.

February 6, 2013 – Jell-O is an owner surrender. He is coming from the SPCA de l’Outaouais. He is 31lbs of pure swetness. Jell-O is neutered, up to date in his vaccination and microchipped. He will need to lose all those extra pounds to bring him to a healthy weight where he will feel much more comfortable. Jell-O will be going to the vet in the coming days to treats an ear infection and we will take an appointment to have his teeth cleaned. Jell-O is VERY good with other dogs and he seems to LOVE being around people and get belly rubs. Stay tuned for more info on Jell-O in the coming days.
