Chicca

Age: 6 1/2 years old
Adoption Status:

unnamed 10May 1, 2014 – Chicca has been adopted by her foster dad.

April 27, 2014 – Chicca is having a wonderful time now that Spring has finally truly arrived. She loves to chase a ball around in the yard outside, go for walks, and meet new friends at the dog park. Chicca is a very social dog and she gets along really well with all the other dogs she’s met so far in the neighbourhood. She recently met a 1 year old Golden Retriever at the local dog park and loves to chase balls and run in the grass with him! She still has a lot of spring in her step! During the rest of day she enjoys her naps and just chilling out at home. She loves to sit on my lap on a weekend afternoon and just take a snooze. Please cntact us HERE if you are interested in adopting this beautiful girl.

April 17, 2014 – Chicca is doing very well. She enjoys going for long walks and is the perfect companion for any active person. Chicca is now gone for an Easter Holiday in Newfoundland with her foster dad and will be back on the 24th of April.

April 4, 2014 – Chicca is having a blast! She enjoys getting lots of walks as she has a lot of energy! I typically walk her about three times a day. She gets really excited around any type of ball or ball shaped toy. I have a fenced side yard where I take Chicca in the afternoons and she loves to chase a tennis ball all over the place. I have to be very careful with toys inside, because she she can get too excited and knock things over. Also, Chicca LOVES her food; I have to be careful to keep all human food (and dog food) stored away when not at home. She also loves to nibble on anything that might appear to be food when on her walks, so you have to keep an eye on her. Otherwise, Chicca just loves to hang out and if you put a blanket or a doggy bed anywhere on the floor she will curl up and take a nap. Her favorite place to snooze however, is at your feet or especially on your lap whenever you’re sitting down.

March 26, 2014 – Chicca had her teeth cleaned yesterday and she lost 7. She is doing really really well and enjoys her walks a lot and loves playing with her toys. During the day she likes to take naps or sit on my lap when ever I’m reading or watching tv. She had her urine checked at the vet yesterday and her urinary infection has cleared up completely. She’s taking another nap right now and taking it easy.

March 11, 2014 – Chicca is doing great. Since she has been on antibiotics and special diet (for her urinary tract infection), she has had no accidents and she is extremely proud that she is now allowed free access to the house; in fact this morning I found her on my bed with a stuffed toy which made me laugh as she had to used another piece of furniture first in order to accomplish this feat (none of the other dogs including my own have figured it out, which shows what a smart and determined pug she is). Chicca still has no real interest in the other dogs but has no problem climbing over them to secure her favourite spot on my lap. She is a real people pug. She enjoys her walks, lavishing in the attention the people we meet pay her and doesn`t mind being washed off in the tub after. Chicca is a real cuddly pug but also loves to play and will chase a toy down the hall as long as you have the energy to throw it.

ChiccaAdrianMarch 7, 2014 – Chicca is a little(23lbs) dog with a big personality. She is a confident, intelligent pug who after checking out every corner of the house she could sniff last night she made herself right at home. She is a lovable, sweet natured girl who has no doubt that everyone loves her. She is a lively girl and very agile and she knows sit and shake a paw. She likes to play but we discovered she does fixate on certain toys especially balls and any kind of light such as a laser pointer. She appears to get along well with her foster siblings except when she is fixated on an object so she needs strong parents to help ease the obsession. She settled right down in her crate last night and I didn’t hear a peep out of her until I got her up in this morning. This sweet girl walks well on the leash however she prefers that we keep to cleared paved pathways. Chicca went to the vet’s this afternoon and was very good in the car and she relished the attention she received. She is suffering from a urinary tract infection and will be on antibiotics for the next two weeks and a special diet for at least the next four weeks. She will also need some dental work once she’s healed from her UTI.

March 6, 2014 – Chicca is very smart, confident, strong willed and a little dominant. She is obsessed with food, looking for a snack any time someone is in the kitchen or hears paper crinkle. She is also obsessive about balls. Needless to say, the ball has been put away. Chicca has showed only a mild interest in other toys so I don’t think there will be a problem with them. She has showed little interest in the resident dogs. She is a little offended that I haven’t given her full run of the house and keeps trying to get into the areas that are blocked off. She needs some boundaries. She is extremely agile and if a chair is left pushed out I have no doubt I would find her on the kitchen table. She does however respond readily to a stern no or off.Chicca has had a couple of accidents but both times it was right at the door so she is totally housetrained just having a little trouble holding it probably due to her urinary tract infection. She went into the crate last night without a problem and I didn’t hear a peep out of her until I got her up this morning.
March 5, 2014 – Chicca is an owner surrender. She is born on June 2, 2007. She’s spayed and will be going to the vet tomorrow for urine analysis ans x-rays as she has blood in her urine. Chicca is very friendly with other dogs and a sweethert with people. Chicca is 22.6lbs. Stay tuned for more info on Chicca.
